COMPLETE THE SUPPLY OF PHARMACEUTICAL MIXING AND PACKAGING LINES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PANDEMIC
With high determination and solidarity, the team of Tien Tuan Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd. has together well implemented “3-on-site production” for 4 months when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in Ho Chi Minh City (from July 2021 to November 2021), thanks to that, completed on schedule another order of Mixing and Packaging Line for a customer in Vietnam.
The machines in the line include:
1- High-speed mixer and granulator, model HMG-200
2- Fluided bed dryer and granulator, model FBDG-200
3- Lifting and tilting device, model TLT-200
4- Sieving granulator, model TS-250
5- Auto blister packing machine, model CP-250

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS AND DIFFICULTIES …
- In February 2021, the customer trusted and awarded the contract to TTP to implement. At this time in Vietnam, no one could imagine the scene of Ho Chi Minh City when the wave of COVID-19 Delta strain came.
Unexpected difficulties came
- After the 4/30 – 5/1 holiday, the number of positive cases in the whole country exceeded 700,000 cases, of which Ho Chi Minh City recorded 366,539 cases. From 5/31/2021, Ho Chi Minh City officially implemented social distancing according to Directive 15 for the first time. This is also the time when the project enters the main production phase.
- From this point on, Ho Chi Minh City continuously increased the level of blockade throughout the city to isolate the virus: Directive 16, 16+, 19, The whole country supports the South to fight against epidemics (see picture below). All business - production - service activities were frozen, especially logistics activities were stalled, which had a heavy impact on the supply of raw materials for production of the project.
- Join hands with localities to fight against epidemics: Urgently vaccinate dose 1 at Tan Binh Industrial Park with the policy “the best vaccine is the one that is injected as soon as possible”. On June 21, 2021, TTP supported the vaccine fund in response to the call of the Prime Minister. During the epidemic period, TTP regularly conducted self-testing for Covid-19 for all workers.
- On July 10, 2021, TTP deployed Three-On-Site (3T) for the first two weeks according to Ho Chi Minh City’s directive and then a series of months lasted continuously until October. At this point, the project faced two risks that could not be completed: supply stagnation (mentioned above) and labor shortage.
Just a challenge, overcome it together
- The TTP team has maximized legal travel policies (green card, yellow card, work paper…), coordinated with suppliers to proactively receive goods at isolation points (control checkpoints), split orders, receive many times in many batches, as well as try to overcome other obstacles in the supply chain. Thanks to that, eventually the production department had enough raw materials to complete the order, although not timely and simultaneously as planned.
- Despite labor shortages and raw material supply delays not as planned, TTP’s production department still strived to complete orders in October 2021 under 3T conditions.
- In November 2021, The project proceeded to conduct Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). Due to the complicated epidemic situation, customers could not move to accept at the factory. TTP has deployed online with customers, although very difficult but finally successfully completed.
- In December, when travel between localities became easier, TTP proceeded to pack and transport machinery to customer’s factory
- The installation and commissioning process was then hindered by the epidemic situation in the local area where the machine was installed, which was tense. However, thanks to good preparation and efforts of TTP technicians, the installation was still going according to plan, meeting customer expectations.
TTP BRAND ONCE AGAIN AFFIRMED
- Globally, many manufacturing, supply and service businesses have closed due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Maintaining production and delivering on schedule shows the commitment of the board of directors and staff of Tien Tuan to customers who have placed their trust in the TTP brand.
- The line is expected to help customers supply the market with freeze-dried products with the highest quality, helping customers feel secure on their mission of caring for community health.
- However, the challenge still remains when the Covid-19 epidemic is still evolving complicatedly in other provinces and cities in the country such as: Northern, Southwest… not only causing difficulties for the supply chain but also creating barriers to travel between localities, thereby posing challenges for equipment installation and acceptance at the factory.
- With the commitment “Provide customers more than expectation”, Tien Tuan always tries his best to overcome all challenges to bring the best thing for customers.

The wet granulation process in two separate steps is the most widely used technology and it is suitable for traditional drug mixing equipment such as Mixer & Granulator and Fluid-bed Dryer & Granulator.
The one-step granulation process helps to create granules directly, by granulating acid and alkali granules together. Usually, water is used as a granulation solution, so the effervescent reaction must be controlled during the granulation process. Ethanol or propanol can also be used as a granulation solution, but then additional binders are needed to achieve the necessary cohesion. There are 2 types of equipment used to prepare effervescent tablets according to this technology
Effervescent tablets have the main advantage of being easy to use, especially effective for patients who are children. However, their production is more complicated than traditional tablets, especially the selection of technology and equipment.
